The GPA's are in and Reiver Softball is at the top when it comes to NJCAA Softball! 

The Reivers were named the NJCAA Academic Softball Team of the Year with a team GPA of 3.7. All 16 student-athletes earned a GPA above a 3.0 with six supporting a perfect 4.0 and six more with a 3.5 or higher. Reiver softball stresses academic excellence within the program and it shows with past team GPA's.  Returner Alyssa Maldonado (Soto) had this to say about the team's academic year, "This year was all about accomplishing goals. We would meet our goals and then decide to go beyond them because as a team we knew that we could do more and that is something I loved about this team". When asked about being named the NJCAA Academic Softball Team of the Year  and what it meant to her Soto stated, "Winning this award means that all the hard work spent in and out of the classroom was worth it because I did it for my team and I knew they were doing the same."

Iowa Western looks to continue its success on the field and in the classroom with a new recruiting class of eleven new faces for the fall.
