LAWRENCE, KS- After a couple weeks away from racing the Reivers returned to action at the Rim Rock Farm Collegiate Meet in Lawrence, KS hosted by Kansas University. "It was a great day to race today at one of the more historic XC venues in the country," said Bierbaum.

Four Reivers ran over the weekend and the two weeks off definitely paid off. Aldo Zavala in only his second race as a Reiver ran almost a 4 minute best racing probably his best XC race ever. He went for it in the last mile finishing in 5:09 running a personal best 26:48. Following him was Gavin Klein with a 34 second personal best running a 27:07. "He's an incredible competitor who just hates getting beat" Bierbaum said of Klein.

Coming in behind the freshman duo was sophomore Daniel Reimer with a 7 second personal best running a 28:49. Yet the biggest improvement came from Freshman Steven Hinze with almost a 2 and a half minute PR and his first time running under 30 minutes running 29:31. "It showed today how hard Steven works, his goal for the year was to break 30 minutes" said Bierbaum.

Next week the Reivers head to Emporia State for the ESU Invitational the men's race starts at 9:45 am.
