Men Finish 2nd At Region XI Championships

Storm Lake, IA- In the final meet before nationals the men traveled to Storm Lake, IA to compete in the Region XI championships. At the end of the day the men's team finished 2nd in the region with 11 top 3 performances and 5 event champions. They will cap off the indoor season in Pittsburg, KS at the national championships in two weeks.

 

MEET HIGHLIGHTS

  • Robert Warren finished 6th in the 200m dash with a time of 22.75
  • Chevannie Hanson finished 2nd in the 400m dash with a time of 49.37
  • Jacobi Agee finished 3rd in the 400m dash with a time of 50.22
  • Keshaun Baker finished 5th in the 400m dash with a time of 50.77
  • Shamar Deacon was the champion in the 600m dash with a time of 1:23.45 he also finished 4th in the 800m with a time of 2:00.36
  • Aldo Zavala finished 5th in the Mile with a time of 4:40.49
  • Kassim Kibet was the champion in the 3k with a time of 8:52.40 he also won the 5k with a time of 15:19.26
  • Denzel Downing finished 3rd in the 60mh with a time of 8.15 he also ran the 3rd fastest time in the nation in prelims at 8.03
  • The men's 4x800m relay finished 3rd with a time of 8:23.54
  • The men's DMR finished 3rd with a time of 10:57.26
  • Jonathan Whitcomb finished first in the men's heptathlon with a score of 4392 and was also the champion in the men's pole vault with a vault of 4.15m (13'7.25)
  • Luke Consbruck finished second in the men's pole vault with a vault of 3.75m (12'3.50)
  • Malik Redd finished 4th in the triple jump with a jump of 13.43m (44'0.75)
  • Johnie Jean-Jacques finished 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 15.41m (50'6.75)
  • Davon Hare-Ellis placed 5th in the Weight Throw with a throw of 15.34m (50'4)
