Reiver Track competes well under pressure at Pittsburg State Invite
PITTSBURG, KS
The Reivers were in action at the over sized track at Pittsburg State with over 25 teams competing the Reivers preformed well under the pressure. The day started of with the jumps freshman Dexton Crutchfield has a season best personal best with a jump of 7.06 which is good enough to send him to the national track meet and putting him in the top 10. Hurdler Denzel Dowing runs the open 60m in and has a PR with a time of 6.96 on the women's side Dorcas Gyimah has a great second meet dropping her time in the 60m with a 7.74. Stand out freshman Traci Brown has another season best and personal record in the 60m with a time of 7.61 putting her in the top 5 on the NJCAA Leaderboards. Standout sophomores Jordan Minnis and Vincent Gordon have another outstanding weekend this time in the 400m posting blazing times of 48.86 (Jordan) and 47.99 (Vincent) putting them in the top 5. The mid distance team had a great showing also running in races that are a little unusual the 600y. Michael McCall first time running the 600y puts up a time of 1:16.22 only 3 second off meeting the qualifying mark same turn of events for Asshani Robb never running the 600y she runs 1:43.37 only 1 second from the qualifying mark. To finish the day the Mens 4x4 relay (Datine Rhone, Vincent Gordon, Jordan Minnis, Renardo Wilson) put together a great race with a time of 3:16.43 the 5th fastest time in the country.
The Reivers will be back in action this weekend at Doane University and University of Nebraska
