Men Finish 3rd at District III Championship, Punch Ticket to Nationals

April 29th, 2019

Gothenburg, Nebraska

In a weather shortened event the men's golf team finished 3rd at the NJCAA District III Championship. The final round was cancelled due to weather so the men had two rounds on Monday to punch their ticket to Nationals. The team got off to a slow start in round 1 shooting 299. In round 2, two freshmen stepped up when needed. Cade McCallum fired his best round as a Reiver carding a 68, and Rick Van Der Nat shot his season low 69 to lead the Reivers to a team score of 283. The 2 round total of 582 was good enough for 3rd place and a spot at the NJCAA National Championship. McCallum and Van Der Nat earned top-10 finishes for the Reivers. Clay Kucera and Adam Van Raden both earned a top-20 finish with a 2 round total of 148. The Reivers will tee it up again at the NJCAA National Championships in Vierra, Florida starting May 14th.
