Men Finish 5th at the Bob Writz Invitational

March 26th, 2019

Denver, Colorado

The men started their spring season with a 5th place finish at the Bob Writz Invitational hosted by Colorado School of Mines at the Bear Creek Golf Club in Denver, Colorado. The men shot 310 in the opening round led by 73 from sophomore Peder Brunnsjo. The team shot the same score, 310, in the final round to finish tied for 5th with the University of Tampa. The host school Colorado School of Mines won the event with a two round total of 605. "This was the most difficult golf course I have ever seen coaching college golf. With this being our first event of the spring and having very limited practice time I am happy with the way the guys played. They competed throughout the tournament and that is important to see," coach Thompson. Peder Brunnsjo earned a T11 finish with rounds of 73 and 77. Clay Kucera finished T23 with rounds of 77 and 78. The men tee it up again at the NCIS Preview on April 5th and 6th in Kansas City, MO.
