Reivers Sweep NIACC

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - The Iowa Western men's basketball team earned the regular-season sweep over NIACC with an impressive 105-80 defeat over the Trojans on Saturday afternoon. In the first half the game remained close as neither team could establish a comfortable lead in the game. In the final minute of the first half the Reiver defense was able to force back-to-back turnovers which led to a flurry of points and allowed Iowa Western to take a 47-39 lead in the break.

In the second half the Reiver lead would never be seriously threatened by the Trojans. The Reivers got hot from the 3-point line as they connected on 14-29 attempts for the game. Jadon Cool hit big shot after big shot in the second half which helped the Reivers take their lead up to 20 points. Cool would finish the game 5 of 7 from the 3-point line on his way to a game-high 25 points. Emion Galloway put together an impressive stat line with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocked shots. Muhammed Edunjobi and Devon Junghans each scored 15 points, and Donavan Seamster also reached double figures with 13 points.

This win pushed the Reiver win streak to 4 in a row. Iowa Western has now matched last season's win total with an overall record of 14-10, and the Reivers are 7-5 in the ICCAC. Next up the Reivers will host Southwestern on Wednesday night in Reiver Arena. Southwestern defeated Iowa Western a few weeks ago 73-65 in their first matchup.
