Reivers Sweep Metro

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - The Iowa Western men's basketball team earned a sweep over the Metropolitan CC Wolves on Wednesday night in Reiver Arena by the score of 96-74. The Reivers were able to control much of the game, but the Wolves kept things interesting with some big runs of their own. Just before halftime, the Iowa Western men pushed their lead to double figures. The Reivers led 46-35 at the break.

Iowa Western started the second half with a quick 5-0 run after an Ikenna Ude-Smith dunk and a Jadon Cool 3-pointer on consecutive possessions. The Wolves would get hot from three; took advantage of some questionable shot attempts from the Reivers, and cut the lead to just 3 points. After a Metropolitan technical foul, the Reivers sank both free throws and Jadon Cool would knock down back-to-back 3-pointers to once again extend the Reiver lead to double digits. Cool finished the game 5 of 9 from 3-point range. The Reivers did a great job sharing the basketball as they finished the game with 24 assists on 36 made field goals.

In the end, the Reivers proved to be too much for the Wolves. Ikenna Ude-Smith finished with an impressive stat line of 22 points and 15 rebounds. Jadon Cool scored 19 points and dished out 5 assists. Donavan Seamster finished with 15 points and Devon Junghans scored 13 and recorded 8 assists.

Iowa Western is 11-10 on the season. The Reivers will host Western Iowa Tech on Saturday, January 27th at 3:00 pm for a home conference matchup.
