Reiver Men End Semester with a Win

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - The Iowa Western men's basketball team ended the Fall semester with an 83-72 win over the Iowa Central Community College Tritons on Sunday evening. For the majority of the first half, the two teams would trade leads back and forth. Near the end of the first half, the Reivers went on a mini-run and took a 4-point lead going into halftime with a score of 35-31. The Reivers went on a quick 6-0 run to start the second half and the lead jumped up to 10 points in favor of Iowa Western.

The Reivers could hold a steady lead for the rest of the contest. A few late turnovers by Iowa Western would keep the door open for the Tritons, but the Reivers were able to knock down their free throws to help close out the win. The Reivers were balanced on the offensive end as Emion Galloway, Shaq Cooper, and Champ Calamese each scored 14 points to lead the way for Iowa Western. Galloway and Cooper also each grabbed 7 rebounds.

Iowa Western will enter the holiday break with an overall record of 9-6 and an ICCAC conference record of 3-1. The Reivers will be back in action in Reiver Arena on January 3rd vs Kirkwood Community College.
