Reivers Sweep Home Classic

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -  Iowa Western Men's Basketball earned a sweep over a pair of Kansas junior college teams as the Reivers defeated Labette Community College and Hesston College over the weekend.

On Friday night the Reivers took on the Labette Cardinals. The Reivers would jump out to an early lead and never looked back. Ikenna Ude-Smith was dominant in the paint as he finished 11 for 13 from the floor on his way to 26 points. Ude-Smith also grabbed 8 rebounds in the contest. Donvan Seamster came off the bench and had a great night, finishing 4 of 8 from the 3-point line. Seamster would finish the game with 18 points. The final result was an 86-62 win for the Reivers. Iowa Western shared the basketball as the team tallied 23 assists on the night.

On Saturday the Reivers took on the Hesston College Larks. The Reiver defense did not allow Hesston anything easy in the first half as the Reivers held the Larks to just 26 points at halftime, and Iowa Western scored 42 points in the first half.  Donavan Seamster continued his hot shooting in the second half as he finished the game 5 of 9 from the 3-point line. Seamster led the Reivers in scoring with 15 points. It was a balanced offensive attack for Iowa Western as 12 different players scored in the contest. The final score was a lopsided 93-59 victory for the Reivers.

Iowa Western is now 5-3 overall on the season. The Reivers will host Highland Community College on Tuesday, November 21st at 7:30 pm.
