New Providence, IA -- The Iowa Western men's basketball team traveled to Quakerdale Prep Academy Tuesday evening (1/15/19) and came away with a dominant 101-57 victory.

The victory was in little doubt as the injury stricken Eagles suited only seven players for the contest, many of whom were already out matched individually by the traveling team from Council Bluffs.  Still the Reivers approached the contest as a unique opportunity to work and improve on several things while in a live game; and did just that.  In a game where any number of players could have attempted to rise their individual stats, the Reivers shared the ball; collecting 28 assists of it's 44 field goals made.  All but one of the fourteen Reivers suited up for the contest scored, with the lone exception of Marques Watson.  Watson would still leave his mark on the game however, as he led all Reivers in assists for the evening.  After the contest, several local fans and residents approached and complimented the Iowa Western players and coaching staff for their conduct and approach in handling such an overmatched contest with respect and class towards it's foe.

Five Reivers would end up scoring in double figures. Caleb Huffman led the scoring with 19 points; Seneca Louis (13pts), Emmanuel Ugboh (12pts), Boubacar Diakite (12pts), and Esahia Nyiwe (10pts) rounded out the double figure scoring. Diakite collected his first double-double of the season with his 12 point - 10 rebound effort.

With the win, the Reivers move to 16-3 on the season and return to conference play this upcoming Saturday night (1/19/19).  The Reivers host Northeast (NE) at Reiver Arena to open the home portion of their conference schedule; tip time is slated for 7:00pm.
