Beatrice, NE -- The Iowa Western men's basketball team collected a 80-71 road victory over the Southeast (NE) Storm Tuesday (12/4/18) evening; sweeping the season series (2-0) this season.

Southeast opened the contest with an 8-0 run, only to be outscored the next 30 minutes of play by 32 points as the Reivers systematically opened up running lanes from good solid defensive play most of the remaining part of the contest; earning a 24 point advantage with 8 minutes left in the game.  From that point the Storm made a sizable dent in the Reiver lead, but the contest was never much in doubt as the final horn went off.

The Reivers were led by the 23 point performance of Caleb Huffman who shot 9/14 from the floor including 4/7 from behind the three point arch.  He was joined in double figures by Emmanuel Ugboh's 8/9 shooting for 19 points, and Willard Anderson chipped in 10 points including 3/4 shooting from three point range as well.

Iowa Western showed unselfish play once again accumulating 19 assists on their 33 field goals made. Three Reivers contributed 4 assists individually; Along with Huffman, Marques Watson, and Travon Broadway all dished out 4 dimes a piece as the Reivers never trailed after the 14:13 mark of the first frame.

With the win, Iowa Western moves to 10-2 on the still relatively young season.

Up next for the Reivers is their final classic on the schedule.  Iowa Western hosts Labette (KS) out of the Jayhawk Conference Friday (12/7/18) evening, and then Saturday (12/8/18) matches back up with a Northeastern (CO) team that the Reivers narrowly beat 82-79 in a quality college basketball game three weeks ago in Sterling, CO.  Iowa Western has won each of the last two classics they have competed in; having won the Holiday Inn / Hampton Inn Reiver Classic (Des Moines Area (IA), Dakota College-Bottineau (ND), and Cloud County (KS)), and the Cloud County Thanksgiving T-Bird Classic (Cloud County (KS), Pratt (KS), North Platte (NE)) earlier this season.

Tip times for both Friday and Saturday nights' contests of the Iowa Western Basketball Classic are slated for 7:00pm.
