Reivers unable to tame Tigers

Marshalltowm, IA -- Iowa Western shot just 35% from the floor in it's 77-59 loss at Marshalltown Wednesday evening (1/31/18). The loss drops the Reivers to 19-5 overall for the year.

Iowa Western were led by Decardo Day and Isaiah Wade's 14 points a piece. Patrick Dembley chipped in ten points to round off the double figure scoring performers. Wade did manage to grab ten rebounds despite turning his ankle midway through the first half, with the ten boards he now has 12 double-double (in both points and rebounds) efforts on the year.

The home-standing Tigers were led by Oscar Kao's game high 29 points.

Despite the setback, Iowa Western remains in sole possession of second place in the ICCAC; as Southeastern was turned away at Indian Hills in the other conference game of the evening, dropping the Blackhawks into a third place tie with Marshalltown. The conference standing are as follows, following Wednesday's contests: #2 Indian Hills (5-0), Iowa Western (3-2), Marshalltown (2-3), Southeastern (2-3), and Northeast (0-4).

After playing the last four out of five contests on the road; the Reivers look forward to returning to Reiver Arena. Four out of the final six games of the regular season with be held on the Reivers' home floor, beginning this upcoming Saturday night (2/3/18) against conference foe Northeast (NE). Tip time between the Reivers and Hawks is scheduled for 7:00pm.
