Norfolk, NE -- The #17 Iowa Western Reiver men led "wire to wire" in their conference road opener Wednesday night (1/17/18) en route to a convincing 108-87 victory over the hosting Northeast Hawks.

The Reivers held Northeast to just 38% shooting from the floor, while shooting 52% from the field themselves. The Reiver also outrebounded a Hawks squad, that has been dominant on the glass in most of their contests, 48-39. Iowa Western was led in rebounding by Isaiah Wade's 16 rebounds, Jevon Smith's 8 boards, Adalberto Diaz's 7 rebounds.

Iowa Western's (18-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play) 108 points marks the ninth time they have passed the century mark this season. Five Reivers scored in double figures; Patrick Dembley led the scoring attack with an impressive all-around 25 point - 7 assist effort. Wade, Smith, and Shadeed Shabazz all added 16 points each, and Diaz chipped in 12 points off the bench. The 16 point-16 rebound effort by Wade was the 6'8 power forward's 10th "double-double' of the season.

Northeast was led by Jeremiah Codden's team high 24 points and Allen Anderson's 18 point performance.

Iowa Western moves into first place in the ICCAC Conference with it's second win of the early conference slate: Iowa Western 2-0, Indian Hills 1-0, Southeastern 1-1, Northeast 0-1, and Marshalltown 0-2.

Up next, the Reivers will step back out of conference play with a road trip to Sedalia, MO to face off against the State Fair Roadrunners.  That contest is slated for a 7:30pm start time.
