DMACC and Iowa Western Go the Distance at the Doc

Council Bluffs, Iowa

Iowa Western (7-2) plated three first-inning runs on a Noah Hull home run and never trailed in a 19-5 defeat of Des Moines Area (4-8) on Wednesday afternoon at Doc Ross Field.

The Reivers plated a crooked number in five of their eight innings on offense, including a six-run outburst in the bottom of the eighth.

Kyle Huckstorf, Noah Hull, Logan Jordan, and Auggie Rasmussen each drove in three runs apiece while Trenton Harris picked up a pair of RBI.  11 different Reivers picked up a hit in the full length, 9-inning affair, with seven of the team's 15 hits going for extra bases.

Hull, Jordan, and Rasmussen all homered, while Huckstorf stroked a pair of doubles for Head Coach Marc Rardin's squad.

Pitching by committee was the name of the day on the mound, with nine different Reivers taking the hill.  Braden Berry was awarded the win as the game's starter, striking out two in his one inning of work, while Grant Hubka struck out the side in his inning.

The Reivers' weekend series against Mott CC has been called off and its place IWCC has scheduled a doubleheader with Coffeyville for Friday afternoon at 'the Doc'.  Both games between the Red Ravens and Reivers can be watched on the Reiver Sports Network.
