Reivers Back on Track, Sweep DMACC in Midweek DH

Iowa Western Baseball hosted the Bears of DMACC for a midweek DH that lead to 2 more wins for the Reivers.

In Game 1, Jayden Kruse (RS/FR, North Platte, NE) earned his 2nd win of the season throwing 4-innings, striking out 6, and giving up 1 hit.  Tanner Holen (SO, Manhattan, KS) went 3-3 with a 2B, an RBI, and 3 Runs scored while Freshman Greg Bennett (Peosta, IA) launched his first career homerun while also tallying 2 BBs, and 3 RBIs.  Ronald Sweeny III (FR, Woodbury, MN) added 3 hits in 3 plate appearances with all 3 being 2Bs and 3 RBIs.  Reivers win Game 1 11-0.

Game 2 saw the Reivers battle from a 1 run deficit in the 6th to take the victory 7-5.  Sophomore Breyden Eckhout (Amherst, NE) picked up his second win of the season throwing  1 1/3 innings in relief striking out 2.  Freshman Joseph Roecker (Elkhorn, NE) picked up his first save of the season on his 2/3 inning of work.  Sweeny followed Bennett's lead and left the yard for the first time in his young career to give the Reivers a 2-run lead going into the bottom of the 7th.  He finished Game 2 going 2-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs.

 

Reivers are back in action as they host Rochester (MN) for a single game on Saturday starting at 2pm and a DH on Sunday starting at 11am!.
