The weather warms up as the Reivers take 4 games from Iowa Central.
In Game 1, Keaton Winn (SO RHP Ollie, IA) picks up his 2nd win of the season striking out 8 through 5-innings and giving up just 1 hit. Hagen Holmstead (SO IF American Fork, UT) lead the offense going 4-4 with a 2B, 2 runs scored, and an RBI. Breyden Eckhout (SO IF Amherst, NE) also added to the offensive explosion going 2-2 with 4 RBIs, 2 runs scored, and a HBP. Iowa Western took Game 1 14-0 in 5-innings.
Game 2 saw a different pace as the Reivers won 2-1 in walk-off fashion. Jordan Bonk (FR RHP Victoria, MN) took the mound in his first college start giving up 1 run through his 3 innings of work. Carter Akerfelds (FR RHP Littleton, CO) bridged the gap throwing 2 innings of work striking out 2 before the ball was handed to Sean Chandler (RS/SO RHP Bellevue, NE) who picked up the win striking out all 6 hitters he faced. Tyler Reichenborn (SO OF Brooklyn Park, MN) went 3-4 with 2 3Bs and knocked in both of the Reivers runs. Gibson Krzeminski (RS/FR OF Tecumseh, ONT, Can) went 1-3 with a stolen base and a run.
In Game 3, Jayden Kruse (RS/FR RHP North Platte, NE) started on the mound for the first time in 2 years coming off of an injury. He scattered 2 hits across his 3 innings and struck out 4. Ryan Sullivan (SO IF Aurora, CO) went 2-4 driving in 2 RBIs while crossing the plate himself once. John Hawk (SO C, McClelland, IA) went 2-3 with a 2B and an RBI as the Reivers took game 3 6-2.
The Reivers shut the door in the weekend in Game 4 with an 11-0 victory. Isaiah Peterson (FR UTL Lincoln, NE) started for the first time in his career on the hill striking out 4 in 3 innings of work. Joseph Roecker (FR RHP Elkhorn, NE) shoved the last 2 innings, striking out 6 while facing 7 batters. Cole Albers (FR IF Brooklyn Park, MN) went 2-2 with a 3B, 2 RBIs, 1 run scored, and a HBP while Mason Speirs (FR C, Westminster, CO) went 2-2 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
Iowa Western is back in action 3/17 as they host NIACC in a DH starting at 2pm and a 12pm start on 3/18.
